All publicly available information about technical development projects undertaken by IAI can be found here.
Currently the ongoing IFC development projects include:
- complete the IFC2x3 Technical Corrigendum 1 - an documentation and minor bug-fixing upgrade of IFC2x3. Published on 11.07.2007
- complete the technology preview IFC2x3G - where "G" stands for "geographic information", an upward compatible minor extension of IFC2x3 TC1 to include advanced support for geo-referencing of buildings.
- work towards a next release of IFC with the code name IFC2010 to incorporate new domain extension requirements
In parallel the domain requirement definition projects of the IAI are ongoing:
- domain requirement projects are end user driven projects stating the need of enhanced data exchange definitions in a particular domain, those projects are requested to have strong implementers input in order to provide realistic requests for new IFC releases
